Gucci Mane
Radric Delantic Davis a.k.a. Gucci Mane is an Atlanta-based American hip hop artist. He’s a trap pioneer who made his debut 12 years ago with a national hit “Icy” and his first album “Trap House”. After 10 albums, a few days ago, together with Metro Boomin, the rapper released a collaborative mixtape with Metro Boomin. According to what we’ve heard so far, the Trap King is definitely back!
Gucci Mane loved writing poems since his childhood, but he fell in love with rap in his teenage days. Despite the success of his debut song, “Icy” which was a duet, he never collaborated with Young Jeezy because of disputes over the right to this single. This argument was the reason why the two artists traded a number of diss track between each other. Dozens of mixtapes had been recorded during his jail time (which had nothing to do with the dispute with Young Jeezy) and, finally, Gucci Mane released the second offical album named “The State vs. Radric Davis”.
Not only does he rap, but he also acts! In “Birds of a Feather”, Gucci Mane made his acting debut five years ago. In 2013, the hip hop artist was featured in Spring Breakers together with Slena Gomez, James Franco, Ashley Benson, Vanessa Hudgens and Rachel Korine. A year ago, he started to tease images of “Delantic”, Gucci’s upcoming clothing line which should be featuring a wide range of apparel; from underwear to hoodies.
No matter if you like his music and rhymes or not, you have to agree that Gucci Mane has an insane work ethic. So far, he’s released over 70 mixtapes, 3 EP’s and 10 albums. Given the time he spend in jail, he’s incredibly hard-working and productive! In a recent interview, Gucci Mane told that the last year has been the best year of his life. Not only has he become a free man again, but he also realized that his fans supported him while he was gone and they have continued to do it since. We sincerely hope he’ll be free and successfully rapping in many years to come!
