Baraat Company – A Thought-provoking Romantic Comedy

Baaraat Company is an upcoming rom-com, directed by Syed Ahmad Afzal, produced by Archana Chanda, New Age Cinema and distributed by Viacom 18 Motion pictures. The film rooted and shot in Lucknow has a thought provoking subject that appeals to the sensibilities of all age groups.

It features Ranveer Kumar and Sandeepa Dhar in the lead roles and the rest of the cast includes Anurita Jha, Vishal Karwal, Rajender Sethi, Anil Rastogi, Jai Hind, Saurab Kumar, Abhimanue Arun, Manish Niwani and Rohit Bhatnagar. The movie is slated to release on 28th July, 2017.

The film is a slightly offbeat film with an interesting backdrop of Lucknow. While it’s lighthearted, it carries an important message too. Also it’s a sort of a direct comparison between the old and the new Lucknow.

Both the lead actresses, Sandeepa Dhar and Anurita Jha are excited about the quirky entertainment quotient of the prized project of director Syed Ahmad Afzal.

The lead actor Ranveer Kumar is a new-comer and his identity is a sort of suspense and will be disclosed later.

The producer of the film is Archana Chanda of New Age Cinema, totally fresh and dedicated to the cause of the project.

Since long, Hindi film lovers are charmed by love stories, especially if the love is opposed by parents and a lot of fight and aggression follows, finally resulting in a happy ending. Baraat Company too is based on the same tried and tested formula of love stories based in a city like Lucknow where the rule of “love is forbidden” applies strictly.

Director Syed hails from Uttar Pradesh and has roped in his favorite choreographer Firoz A. Khan for Baraat Company dances.

Director Syed is reported to be so much in love with the location in Lucknow and remembers his ‘Youngistaan’ days. He even shot a song from Baraat Company at the location exactly on the same day, i.e. 3rd January, when his super-hit song ‘Suno Naa Sangemarmar’ from Youngistaan was shot 3 years ago.
