Kate Winslet still Haunted by the Titanic Scene
The famous nude scene in which Jack (Leonardo di Caprio) paints Rose (Kate Winslet) is perhaps one of the most memorable scenes of the movie and fans just don’t seem to get enough of it! However, Titanic actress, Kate Winslet, doesn’t seem to be such excited about it. In fact, she says that she feels haunted by this scene. Although it has been 17 years since the movie was released, Kate’s fans still want to get her autograph exactly the nude sketches from the Titanic. Nevertheless, this strong-willed woman always refuses to do so.Did you know who actually sketched Rose in the movie? It was James Cameron, the Titanic director whose hands we see. One of the curiosities is that Cameron is left-handed, so the scene had to be shot in the mirror so that he would have appeared right handed like Jack. All the other Jack’s sketches were also done by James Cameron.
When it comes to the interesting, but not so well known, facts about the Titanic movie, did you know that Kate Winslet suffered from pneumonia after shooting the drowning scenes? Although the water was three feet deep, the actress didn’t wear a wet suit and that proved to be bad for her physical health.
At the age of 39, Kate Winslet is the mother of three children Mia Honey Threapleton, Joe Alfie Winslet Mendes and Bear Blaze Winslet. Not only has she been the youngest person to get six Oscar nominations, but she’s also won the Academy Award for the Best Actress for the Reader. Nevertheless, it’s the Titanic that actually made her world-wide famous, although she wasn’t Cameron’s first choice for the role of Rose. But, once he heard her reading a few scenes, he was absolutely enchanted and didn’t have to look for anyone else. James Cameron made the right decision, that’s for sure, and Kate Winslet will apparently have to deal with those nude sketches for many years.
